Britax Marathon 70 vs Britax Marathon 70 G3

If you’re wondering about what are the differences between the Britax Marathon 70 and the Britax Marathon 70-G3 convertible car seats here are the key differences you need to know before making your decision.

As with all new G3 family Britax convertible seats, Marathon 70-g3 comes with some new features to make the seat safer and the life easier for parents.

At a glance the most important improvement we see is the crotch buckle improvement which solves a very simple but common problem with car seats. The new buckle system is designed to prevent you child from sitting on the buckle. The EZ-Buckle System will cause the harness to flip forward when your child gets out of the car seat, so you will not have to search for it the next time.

The second difference is the new HUGS that comes with Safecell Energy Absorbing System so the chest clip is also different that the old Marathon 70 model. The new pads are now thicker than previous versions to absorb more energy in case of a collision.

The last important difference is the new Versa-Tether that comes with “built-in energy absorbing feature” which will reduce the forces on a child in a crash a little better than old tether system in Britax Marathon 70.

These are the most important differences in our comparison of Britax marathon 70-G3 vs 70. and we hope it helps a bit.
